Citizenship and Immigration Canada

VSTEP and the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada have recently negotiated a contractual agreement whereby all successful applicants to the program who hold proof of permanent resident or refugee status and can demonstrate that they live in Ontario will not have to pay any fees or charges for materials for VSTEP 2008.

The objective of the generous sponsorship of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada is to help newcomers enter and remain in employment commensurate with their skills and qualifications.

Applicants to VSTEP seeking to qualify under these terms must be assessed at a minimum level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 at any LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) Centre across Ontario.

Refugee Claimants are ineligible for this financial assistance.
